I’m Palitja Moore. Nickname: Plotchment. She/her. I’m based in Willunga, Kaurna Country, South Australia.
My blog, Plotchment, was established in 2012 and focuses on people, the planet, and the interconnected wellbeing of the two. I stay informed on the latest in environmental issues and personal wellbeing. I’m a big-picture, systems thinker so I make links to tie it altogether into a progressive, holistic, and inclusive view of humanity and this unique planet Earth. If you like my content, don’t forget to subscribe at the bottom of the page.
I have a Professional (graduate) Certificate in Environmental Policy & Management, an honours degree in English from Flinders University, and I’m a Climate Ready Champion through the City of Onkaparinga and Red Cross. I’m also accredited in Positive Psychology and Mental Health First Aid. I’ve been working in community services and politics since 2007 and have been an activist for environmental sustainability since 1993. This has all led to me embracing being a freelance writer, mainly unpacking environmental issues, but also talking about wellbeing and mental health.
*My name is pronounced pal-ee-cha. Palitja is from the Pitjantjatjara people, in central Australia. I was named after a baby girl who my Mum nursed in the Alice Springs hospital and I thank the local people for allowing Mum to use this name.
I write and photograph on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people and I recognise their elders, past, present, and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded.
